Featured in Times of the Islands: Our Rock House Conservation Success

We’re proud to be featured in Ben Stubenberg’s important piece “Clearing Away Paradise” in Times of the Islands magazine, highlighting our conservation work at Rock House resort.

The Challenge

When Rock House began construction, the site was home to thousands of native plants – including centuries-old lignum vitae trees, native orchids, and thatch palms that grow nowhere else in the world. The question was: could luxury development and conservation work together?

Our Solution

Working with COAST Architects and Projetech, we carefully rescued over 4,000 native plants and trees. We created an on-site nursery where our team maintained these species for months during construction, using our deep knowledge of TCI’s unique growing conditions.

The Results

Most of the rescued plants not only survived but are now thriving around the resort property. These aren’t just plants – they’re living pieces of TCI’s history, some over 100 years old, now creating habitat for native birds and preserving our islands’ botanical heritage.

Why This Matters

As the Times article points out, TCI faces a critical choice: will we be the generation that allows our natural heritage to disappear, or the one that finds ways to preserve it? At Nature’s Vision, we believe luxury and conservation aren’t opposites – they’re partners in creating something truly special.

Every native species we save is a piece of TCI’s identity preserved for future generations. Because once gone, it doesn’t come back.
